Happy Fourth Of July!

On Monday this amazing nation will celebrate another year of independence. America. The land of the American Dream! We will never forget all of the sacrifices that were made by many to make our America today possible. In honor of our beloved nation, make sure to continue pushing forward and achieving so that someday in the future more Americans can appreciate the things we will have left behind for them. Previous Americans were gracious enough to leave us things like the internet. Basketball. Football. Baseball. American Muscle Cars. Video games. Rock n' Roll. Jazz. In a nutshell.. they left us arguably one of the best places on Earth. Not to say that the other places on Earth aren't awesome... because they are. But. They aren't America. There can only be one... and this one is insanely awesome.

Independence Day is celebrated to remember the separation of the Thirteen American Colonies from Great Britain. Interestingly enough, this legal separation was made on July 2nd, 1776. On July 4th, 1776 the revising of the Declaration of Independence was finally approved by Congress. This is why nationally the 4th is recognized as America's Day of Independence. Celebrations since then have been quite similar. Big dinners, fireworks, and generally noisy celebrations have taken place in honor of American pride.

So, aside from remembering the history and sacrifices, the most important question is how are you going to celebrate the Fourth of July? Will you go fishing with friends and family on the lake while listening to some of Georgia's finest country music that the dial can find? Will you pickle a beast like Benny "The Jet Rodriguez" from the nostalgic movie The Sandlot? Will you eat barbeque? Play some baseball? Make an Apple Pie? Whatever you do, make sure that it is awesome because this is your America! Make this Fourth of July one to remember. Also, make sure that you stay safe during your holiday fun!

As you're out making Uncle Sam proud by displaying your American pride, don't forget that the Schwob Memorial Library will be open on July 2nd and 3rd. Although the library will be open on these days, there will be no shuttle service. Of course, the library will be closed on Monday July 4th in observance of Independence Day. Long live the land of the free and the home of the brave!

With Hope,
