Schwob Library Food Drive Gives to the Salvation Army

Mark Flynn, Dean of Libraries (pictured in the center) oversees the pick-up of donations to the Columbus Chapter of the Salvation Army. Thanks to all who contributed to the Library Food Drive.

Last year, The Salvation Army in Georgia provided 278,899 persons with temporary and emergency housing and served 666,225 meals to individuals. During this season, the Army meets the needs of many who cannot afford to feed their families on a daily basis, much less provide a special holiday meal on Christmas Day.

Thank you for making a difference in our community!

"The Salvation Army stands for Hope: that, when every other light has been extinguished, and every other star had gone down, this one gleam shines steadily and clearly out in the darkened sky: 'if I could only get to The Salvation Army, they will do something for me.'" William Booth, Founder of The Salvation Army, (1829-1912)
