Database of the Month: Naxos Music Library

Are you in the mood for listening to some music? Well, this month's Database of the Month, the Naxos Music Library, has a lot to offer you!



The Naxos Music Library (NML) is the world's largest online classical music library.

Currently, it offers:

  • Streaming access to more than 43,500 CDs with more than 600,000 tracks;
  • Catalogs of more than 50 classical, jazz and world music labels;
  • Synopses of over 700 operas;
  • A pronunciation guide for composer and artist names;
  • Glossary of musical terms
  • Playing times of individual works or movements
  • Detailed music notes and opera libretti.
  • Ability to create personalized playlists.

The NML can be searched by composer, work and label; by keyword search and by a sophisticated advanced search engine with up to 10 combined search criteria.

NML can be accessed from GALILEO, anywhere, anytime. And with the new iPhone / iPod Touch App / Android App you can also access the NML on the go.
