Brian Hulsey's Libraries and Transliteracy Blog won first place in the Salem Library Blog Awards. Considered the best "General Library Blog," the Libraries and Transliteracy Blog discusses all literacies (digital literacy, media literacy, information literacy, visual literacy, 21st century literacies, transliteracies and more) with an emphasis on libraries of all types (academic, public, special and school). Transliteracy is the "ability to read, write and interact across a range of platforms, tools and media from signing and orality through handwriting, print, TV, radio and film, to digital social networks" (definition is from www.transliteracy.com). It has become an important topic to libraries that offer resources in all digital and print media types.
