Library Week Kickoff with Pulp to Performance April 14

From Pulp to Performance, held in parallel with the CSU Archives Rare Books Exhibit: From Pulp to Print, will be a public book reading and will explore the art of text and language. Specific items will highlight CSU's rare book collections, but the floor is open for whoever is interested to read from whatever interests them.

The reading will be on April 14 at 12:30 p.m. in the library forum area (1^st floor). Interested readers should contact either David Owings (Owings_David) or Shannon Godlove (Godlove_Shannon) for scheduling. Lunch and cake will be served.  The cake is not a lie.

From Pulp to Print: An Exploration of the Arts of Book Making

From Pulp to Print explores the journey books take from the beginning stages of paper making to the end result of binding and even beyond as books can take on a new life past their original purpose. This exhibition takes a unique perspective on book making looking at the process from an artistic point of view delving deep into the methods and techniques used to construct books that are legitimately works of art in their own right. A variety of themes are explored to illuminate this process with specific examples provided from the CSU Archives and CSU Art Department students. The exhibit is located in the rear left of the first floor of the library and will be on display until April 30^th.
