Every journey begins with taking that first step towards the right direction, and in this novel, the author guides the reader on a journey filled with many twists and turns along the way. This story is one that has hope and restoration written all over it. For Tyler Ames (the main character who is a baseball player), his life was marked by multiple problems and failures which chased his friends and loved ones away; not to mention the fact that the girl who he loved (Sami Dawson) had moved on with her life without him. Just when he thought all hope was lost, his life begins to change as a result of developing a friendship with Virginia Hutcheson (an elderly woman who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease) who may be able to point him in the right direction.
In this novel, Karen Kingsbury highlights and intertwines the lives of Tyler, Sami, and Virginia, all the while showing that miracles can and do happen when we least expect them to. These three characters experienced something that was greater than anything they could ever imagine, and maybe, just maybe, the hope and restoration that came was from the angels.
This book is one that I would highly recommend to read because it is not a typical and predictable love story.
