Dr. James A. Gore, a former member of the Columbus State University faculty,
currently Professor of Biology and the Dean of the College of Natural and Health
Sciences at the University of Tampa, will present “An Environmental Scientist
and Prisoner of War Reflects on Service in Vietnam,” on Tuesday,
January 15th at 12:30 p.m. in the Schwob Memorial Library First Floor Forum Area.
Dr. Gore will discuss environmental issues related to the Vietnam War and his experiences as a POW in that conflict. Dr. Gore, a Navy veteran imprisoned in the Hanoi Hilton during Vietnam, is now a Fulbright scholar with over 135 publication credits and three books. The lecture is sponsored by the First Year Experience Program as part of the Vietnam: Reflections on an Era series.
Light refreshments will be served at noon. The event is free and open to the public.
