New Gale Virtual Reference Library Interface Brings Reference Content to Life
Gale, part of Cengage Learning and a leading publisher of research and reference resources for libraries, schools and businesses, today announced a totally redesigned user interface for Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL), its online ebook platform.
The newly designed Gale Virtual Reference Library enables reference content to literally jump off the shelves – it’s easy-to-use, and even easier for researchers to find exactly what they are looking for. New features and functionalities will encourage users to stay longer, search deeper, and find what they need faster.
Try it for yourself!

Schwob Library Food Drive Gives to the Salvation Army
Mark Flynn, Dean of Libraries (pictured in the center) oversees the pick-up of donations to the Columbus Chapter of the Salvation Army. Thanks to all who contributed to the Library Food Drive.
Last year, The Salvation Army in Georgia provided 278,899 persons with temporary and emergency housing and served 666,225 meals to individuals. During this season, the Army meets the needs of many who cannot afford to feed their families on a daily basis, much less provide a special holiday meal on Christmas Day.
Thank you for making a difference in our community!
"The Salvation Army stands for Hope: that, when every other light has been extinguished, and every other star had gone down, this one gleam shines steadily and clearly out in the darkened sky: 'if I could only get to The Salvation Army, they will do something for me.'" William Booth, Founder of The Salvation Army, (1829-1912)

The Foreign Relations of the U.S. Series Marks its 150th Anniversary
December marks the 150th anniversary of the Foreign Relations of the United States (FRUS) series. First published in 1861, the series has become a leading example of governmental openness and embodies the U.S. Government's commitment to responsible transparency. Over the past 150 years, Foreign Relations evolved to become the official documentary history of U.S. foreign policy decision-making and major diplomatic activity. Foreign Relations volumes contain documents from Presidential libraries, Departments of State and Defense, National Security Council, Central Intelligence Agency, Agency for International Development, and other foreign affairs agencies as well as the private papers of individuals involved in formulating U.S. foreign policy. The most recent releases cover the Nixon era.
Foreign Relations can be accessed in print in the government documents section of the Schwob Library or online at the U.S. Department of State, Office of the Historian website: http://history.state.gov/historicaldocuments
For additional information, please Ask a Librarian or call 706-562-1492.
