Alma and Primo are Here!
Today, May 26, 2017, the entire University System of Georgia libraries have moved to a new integrated library system called Alma.
The Alma system, with its cloud-based environment, is bringing Columbus State University and the University System of Georgia libraries to the forefront of next generation library catalogs.
The planning began in October, 2015 and has included all USG institutions’ active participation. At Columbus State University, a team of staff members has cleaned up its previous system’s (Voyager) records and infrastructure and made strategic decisions on how the data will be displayed in Primo, the new GIL-Find interface. The new Primo interface allows patrons to search for both print and electronic resources at the same time. With Primo, patrons will be able to log into their library accounts using current MyCSU credentials. Patrons will also be able to search across the entire University System of Georgia’s libraries and request resources from them via GIL Express.
As of today, May 26th, GIL Express is available using the new Primo interface. You can access the new GIL-Find catalog at its usual spot: http://gilfind.columbusstate.edu.
Discover GALILEO and Curriculum Builder users: Catalog data may not be available in Discover GALILEO and Curriculum Builder until Tuesday, May 30.
If you need help or have questions, please see http://gil.usg.edu/news/story/were-getting-a-new-catalog or contact the library at 706-507-8671. You may also Ask a Librarian online at: http://columbusstate.libanswers.com/
